Wrestle

We've had few conversations lately 

When we have, they've been short 

You're still lovely as ever 

But now it seems it's come to never 

 

I'd never intentionally hurt you 

But now we're walking backwards 

I don't know if I walk away 

Or if I just wait 

 

Now all of this to say 

That I'll wait as long as it will take 

Even if I'm with someone, minus a ring 

Cause anything worth waiting for 

Might bend me till I break 

 

So 

Please be gentle 

I can't make you feel the same 

I would never play that game 

With a heart so tender 

So I'll be your friend all the same 

 

Cause patients are for doctors 

But patience is for me 

So please be gentle 

 

Any pain there could be 

Is worth it to me 

I've wrestled the Lord now 

And somehow the answer's the same 

Let me know, if you see what I see
