I just know it's not me
Cause I never sit for a while
Tired from always moving
I cry out to you a smile
And I think of,
When has patience ever been
Something that I listen to
It cries for my attention
Like a soft breeze it blew
Wispering to me...
You give me
Rest beyond me
Patience to just see
You say listen to me
Rest beyond me
and then I
Rest beyond me
Teaching me what it is
To just be silent and remain
Able to hear your voice
Despite the downpour of rain
It implores me to say...
You give me...
... Rest beyond me
The blue sky testifies
To how vast you truly are
Never will I truly comprehend
How wide, how deep, how far
But I do know...
You give me...
... Rest beyond me
When dark clouds try
To cover this vast horizon
Dark storm clouds roll on
And thunder rolls in
My weary eyes turn upwards
In resolution to what I know
My heart lives at unrest
Untill you just show...
You give me
Rest beyond me
Rest beyond me
Rest beyond me

Kind of funny, I wrote the title knowing I wanted to write something with Rest Beyond Me as the title and then the words came later.
