Glazed Look in My Eye

It just hurts that if I never said anything
We could be talking right now
More than a friend
Can hurt so bad
I know we need to reset
Back to something that was
Before I even knew you

Misunderstood is not so bad
I'm just forever glad
That there is one
Who never chose to run
Misunderstood, this never could
Never could be the same... whoa... oh ayo

Part of me
Wishes I could undo
Getting to know you
Such deep friends
Becomes a dangerous thing
And sometimes I fear I made a mistake
Did I mistake a sister for something other
I miss you, but I can take away the past
Not everything can last
No, not the past

Misunderstood is sometimes a choice
I will choose not to voice
Everything in my head
You never chose to turn your head
Misunderstood, this never could
Never could be the same... whoa... oh ayo

I know that you never really trusted my intentions
And many good reasons why
But that doesn't change
Some of the nights I'd cry
Like loosing a sister
Just to gain a passerby
So much fewer words now
Very little said

Just hear bits and pieces from friends
How you are and...
Letting go is always hard
I don't know why I do this to myself
Why do I revisit what maybe never really was
Most people, even you, misunderstand me
Little things
But these little things can hurt the most

Misunderstood can easily be put on myself
When I choose to put on the shelf
Everything I've waited for
Sometimes hear myself saying more
Misunderstood, this very well could
Be what I really need... whoa... oh ayo

You've never invited me there
Thought I was just a city boy
It's okay, I'm rarely truly understood

Misconstrewed things may seem
But I think I catch the gleem
Of light I'm supposed to see
Cause I know you'll never leave
Misunderstood, can be so good
Cause it draws me near to you... wooo... oh ayo

I guess time heals things that words can not
And He heals what I break and try to mend
Things that I could never send
And prayers that never end
I would break if I relied on me
It's okay cause now I can see
Where you stood.
