A Tortoise or A Hare

Cause the birds and the bees
N the apples in the trees
All seem to see
What they're supposed to do
Naturally

Don't know which one
I'd rather be
The tortoise or the hare
Slow n steady
Or always ready
To have some fun

Well the rabbit hops along
N the blue jay sings a song
Both seem never wrong
When they're hopping
To a song

Don't know which one
I'd rather be
The tortoise or the hare
Slow n steady
Or always ready
To have some fun

Oh the frog hips n hops
While the monkey never drops
They both make sudden stops
For a little snack, this routine it
Never stops

Don't know which one
I'd rather be
The tortoise or the hare
Slow n steady
Or always ready
To have some fun

Sometimes I think I tend toward
The impatient little hare
Always want my fun
But don't get anywhere
After the race is done

A little girl walks with nuns
As the little boy runs
Always playing with his guns
But when they both grow they want
The other ones

Don't know which one
I'd rather be
The tortoise or the hare
Slow n steady
Or always ready
To have some fun

My little shelled friend
I'd be you in the end
Cause you've shown me
That sometimes it pays
To take it slow.
