Then, I Think Of You

You're always dancing thru my mind,
The faint echo of a love song;
I hear it thru the night,
And then I think of you.
Each day apart seems so long,
I await you as morning for light.
Then, I think of you.

I fall into this dream,
When I first met you.
I liked you and wanted to,
Wanted to see more of you.

You're always dancing thru my mind,
The faint echo of a love song;
I hear it thru the night,
And then I think of you.
Each day apart seems so long,
I await you as morning for light.
Then, I think of you.

It's a good dream of you,
I never felt out of comfort
When talking to you I felt,
Felt whole & mended of past hurt.

You're always dancing thru my mind,
The faint echo of a love song;
I hear it thru the night,
And then I think of you.
Each day apart seems so long,
I await you as morning for light.
Then, I think of you.

When I wake now,
I wake up sad and alone,
I long to dream again,
Back when your heart I did own.

You're always dancing thru my mind,
The faint echo of a love song;
I hear it thru the night,
And then I think of you.
Each day apart seems so long,
I await you as morning for light.
Then, I think of you...

Then, I think of you
and I still smile.

Tears on the Phone

You call me late last night
Tears drip through the receiver
You're cryin thru the phone
You say you're scared for me
You think I'm going it alone
And you want me to be...

Tears on the phone
You're not alone
Just stop running like you've been
Tears on the phone
Just come back home

I'm scared and I want you to know
You've been running for three years
You know you won't find
What you've been looking for
Just keep in mind
There's no need to run any more

Tears on the phone...
... come back home

You say you just want me to know
That you love me it's okay
You said you want me to see
We haven't talked in a while
And you miss knowing me
I need to pick up the phone n dial

Tears on the phone
I'm not alone
I know what I need to do
Your tears on the phone
I know I'm not alone
I can't promise I'm done
With my running
But I at least do know
That these tears show
You want me back home

How Lovely You Are Inside

It's not that hard to see
I'm sure that it's not on~ly me
Who notices this about you
Beauty you can not know
All I can say is

It's hard to hide
How lovely you are inside
You would never be one
To take away the fun
Of opening you up
It's hard to hide
How lovely yo~u are inside

You even light up the day
With clouds so deep grey
You break through any cloudy day
Which is why I don't just say
What I say lightly

It's hard to hide...
... how lovely yo~u are inside

Even when I try to put away
Everything my heart wants to say
I can't hide what you are
You're more than I know by far
Which makes me sing

It's so hard to hide
How lovely you are inside
You would never be the one
To take focus on yourself

Which is why, I take it on myself
To say~
It's hard to hide
How lovely yo~u are inside

Lovely yo~u are inside

Now I wisper in your ear
What I want you more anything to hear
How lovely yo~u are inside
I see who you are
Lovely, yo~u are inside

The Sin of My Eyes

I don't need you anymore,
Never did.
You've always been with me,
Since a kid.
Why did you and I have to meet,
I wish we never had.
How can I hold on to you so,
It's what makes me sad.

As a boy I played around,
Didn't understand what you were.
I did because you were new found,
You became a friend, my senses you stirred.

I don't need you anymore...
... It's what makes me mad.

As I grew I began to realize,
To see what you did.
I was still young with child eyes,
I couldn't always see you as a kid.

I don't need you anymore...
... It's what makes me sad.

As I grew yet older into a teen,
I became aware of your hurt.
If only earlier I had seen,
It would be easier to toss you like an old shirt.

I don't need you anymore...
... It's what makes me mad.

As I became a man I hate,
The thought of you at all.
Yet I can't open that gate,
To freedom from your wall.

I don't need you anymore...
... It's what makes me sad.

This man is weary now,
I ask you, Father, to take her away.
I befriended her, don't know how;
Didn't know who she was, free me I pray.

Dad, give me what I am to be;
Not this wretch with this weight.
Take away she who tears me down,
Let me not always take the bait.
Can I hold my head up high,
And carry a much lighter park;
As I begin again,
At her, never to look back.

That Moment in Time

I saw the light up in your castle window,
So I climbed the perilous tower to the top.
Up to what I took as my own;
I saved you then, but another saves you now.

Can I go back to that MOMENT IN TIME,
To that old TOLD TALE;
Back when I found you in time,
In POETRY'S PAST, where you went?
All I want is that chance again,
Chance to bring to now what has been.

That MOMENT IN TIME enchanted me;
Entranced me as though in a spell;
Like in a dance with you,
The surroundings faded as we danced.

Can I go back...
... what has been

This TOLD TALE is of a woman,
Swept away by this man;
Fighting peril and a dragon,
The creature to consume any that dare.

Can I go back...
... what has been

In POETRY'S PAST a knight ventured,
He saved and carried away;
She was saved, then past came.
She dashed POETRY'S PAST in a mist of haze.

Can I go back to that MOMENT IN TIME,
To that old TOLD TALE;
Back when I found you in time,
In POETRY'S PAST, where you went?
All I want is that chance again,
Chance to bring to now what has been.
